Consultations are by appointment only and can be booked in person at the surgery or over the telephone. Each appointment slot is 10 minutes long. If you think you need longer than this please advise the reception staff when booking.

Patients who need to be seen urgently on the same day will be offered an emergency appointment of 10 minutes with The On Day Service, which is held at a local location. For more information about The On Day Service please see the tab at the top of the page.

We also offer pre-bookable early morning appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 07:15 and 08:00. These appointments are seperate from the Doctors’ morning surgeries and can be booked more than a week in advance.

The nurse also has an early morning appointment surgery on Tuesday mornings between 07:00 – 08:00.

Please note when being seen by a clinician you have a right to a chaperone at all times. Please ask at reception and this will be arranged.

Practice Nurse

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with the Practice Nurse rather than a Doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. The Nurse can also see you for asthma, diabetes, vaccinations and contraception.

Health Care Assistant

We also have a Health Care Assistant on site Monday to Friday. The Health Care Assistant is able to see you for a number of reasons including; blood tests, dressings and wound checks, and for weight, smoking and other lifestyle problems. Please ask reception staff for a full range of her duties.

Phlebotomy (Blood Testing)

As well as being able to see the Health Care Assistant for blood tests we also have a trained phlebotomist at the surgery who runs clinics held on Tuesday mornings between 07:00 and 11:00, Wednesday mornings between 8:00 and 11:50 and on Friday mornings between 08:30 and 11:30. Please contact reception to book an apppointment.

Medical and nursing students are sometimes in the surgery as part of their training. If you would prefer not to have students present during your consultation please let one of our reception staff know. This will not affect the high standard of care we provide.

The surgery has suitable access for disabled patients. All consulting rooms are on the ground floor. All consulting rooms and the patient’s toilet are wheelchair accessible.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
